Ryan was an excellent choice to hire as a coach in preparation for my first power lifting meet after several years off. He was very knowledgeable on programming and how to progress each lift appropriately while keeping in consideration the stress and fatigue I accumulate from my job. His workout plans were well explained and easy to follow. An advanced education, a significant amount of experience as well as his ruggedly, handsome looks made Ryan an obvious choice. 10/10 would recommend him regardless if your goals are competition related or just trying to live a healthier lifestyle.

I met Ryan about two years ago because he and I were both employees at a local gym called Stacks. I was doing my own programs back then and I knew I wasn’t very experienced in the lifting world so I see this Ox of a man come with some tree trunks for legs. Then a couple months later after having a poor experience with another coach, I contacted Ryan and he’s been my coach ever since. His programming has gotten me stronger in a 7 month cycle than when I was lifting by myself for over a year.

After training with Ryan for many months now, I can tell you from experience he is a motivational strength training coach dedicated to get you to your peak performance. Himself coming from college with a background in physical training and personal attributes makes him a perfect leader for guiding you to your physical goals. Ryan truly works and adapts with you to make sure you hit every goal you set. He is quick to reply to questions or videos you send in. He encourages you wherever you might be in your fitness journey. Ryan and Milo Strength and Performance are a no miss investment. The personal attention given for each individual is tailored to the their needs. For me personally it was get stronger and bulk up a bit. And after 6 months or so I went from 155-180 lbs. I was hitting PR’s I’d never had hit before at the three major lifts (bench, squat, and deadlift) and that was after 3 months removed from any and all strength training. Ryan personally focused not just on the numbers but my mental and emotional health also. It all influences training and Ryan knew when I was holding back and when to let up. If I had to recommend anyone who wants serious training at any level of skill I would high recommend Ryan and his team.

I started training with Ryan back in May of 2019. Being active has always been a priority of mine. When I got done playing ball I needed something to fill that void. I worked out on my own for a few years trying different things and switching up plans. I never could find the right plan and I needed something different. In 2019, Ryan and i had a conversation about plans and he asked if I would be interested in working with him. By far, one of the best things that I’ve done. The attention to detail, communication, knowledge, etc. that he brings everyday, has been a huge help in the process and the results have been more than I could have ever imagined. If you’re looking for a coach to push you and get the best out of you, I would recommend Ryan 11 out of 10 times!

I have been training with Ryan for a little over six months. I’ve used 5/3/1 and various online templates, done personal coaching and even trained with a big name like RTS. In the time I’ve been with Ryan I’ve hit not only new maxes on all my lifts but benched numbers I never thought I would ever bench. I also have the most muscle mass on my body that I’ve ever had. Ryan is one of my closest friends and as a result I’ve gotten to know that he truly cares about his clients on a personal level. He makes adjustments in my training week to week as well as asking me what works best for me at the end of most weeks. I work in construction so there are training styles I just cannot do and rest is a massive part of what works for me. I used to train 5-6 days a week but Ryan has managed to fit my style of programming into four days with optimal rest for my lifestyle, also optimizing my maximal effort when I do train. Ryan is a great coach. Knowledgeable and approachable. Always willing to learn and listen. I would recommend Milo to anyone who wants to be stronger and push maxes but also to anyone who wants to improve body composition.

One thing I’ve had to say about Ryan Patterson is that he may have been one of the smartest powerlifters i’ve ever had the chance to work with. When it came down to it, whether if it was physical, emotional or mental and whether if it was lifting related, work or things going on in my social life, Ryan wanted to be involved. That may have been the thing I admired and appreciated about him the most is that not only was he a good coach, athlete and mentor, but he was also a really good friend. But back to lifting, he had a really good structure and system behind his strength scheme and it was amazing. Whether if it was RPE or percentage based, every week, I was learning a lot about myself as an athlete. Ryan’s time at Armstrong and Kennesaw really backs up how intelligent he is as a person and an athlete. The amount of times I’ve called Ryan to speak about my training schedule, he was always in the library doing more research for the benefits of himself and his athletes. It’s always something new we can learn and that’s what I learned Ryan. At the end of the day, I think the thing I appreciated about Ryan the most was the feeling of security of a coach. I knew that I could trust him in any questions or anything I never felt confident in and it was really easy for him to guide me in the right way. When it came down to it, Ryan knows how to react fast and responsible to situation as a coach and I trusted him because of the amount of intelligence & experience backed up inside his brain.

I first had Ryan train me for my first powerlifting meet a few years ago. He’s responsive, adapts the program to you and how you’re doing, and he knows what he’s talking about. I’ve known him for almost my whole life and I wouldn’t trust my programming with anyone other than him. I hit PRs across the board on all 3 lifts and was the strongest I’ve ever been. After feeling stuck for some time and somewhat loosing that spark in the gym. I reached out to Ryan for coaching. Not just because you look at this man and see someone who is clearly strong, but more so because when you talk to Ryan he clearly knows his stuff. Without any particular competition goals in mind I wanted to focus on strength gains. After the first block it was by far the best programming I’d ever had. With Ryan’s guidance I can honestly say I’ve never been stronger. The biggest things you can ever expect from anyone is they’re honest and actually care about you, and I truly felt that with him. We coined the term for my training with Ryan as “Project Sturdy” and boy did he delivered!

Ryan was my initial exposure to strength coaching and programming. I met him at the gym and noticed not only his impressive lifts but his investment in learning and researching the field. I knew prior that I wanted a coach who had a sufficient background in education as it pertained to strength training, as well as an athletic background as well, so I chose Ryan. I had been lifting weights for a couple of years before I met Ryan, but always felt I was missing something to fully see my true strength. Ryan became my coach mid February of 2022 after meeting each other at the gym on a random day and I’ve seen growth in my strength that I didn’t think was possible so quickly. I started working with Ryan about 7 months ago because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try a more structured approach to training. I had plenty of experience lifting, but usually stuck to the standard bodybuilding style workouts/philosophy for years. Once I had multiple weeks of feeling bored in the gym, I started chatting with Ryan about all things lifting and after a few conversations I finally decided to switch it up and give something new a shot. What did I have to lose, right? About 2 months in I realized I was gaining proficiency in lifts I had always been too timid to try (looking at you, front squats) and I felt the same excitement to train that had fueled me for years before. Here we are 7 months in. I’ve crushed PR after PR, weights that were once challenging are now routine, and coach is always pumped to see the videos. If you’re looking to expand your capabilities in the gym, and push the limits of what you think is attainable, Ryan is THE man for the job. I look forward to all the PRs in my future.

As a physical therapy student, I felt that I owed it to my future clients to be in the best shape possible. I tried doing it on my own for a while, but eventually decided that I needed a little help. I reached out to Ryan about four months ago and he developed a strength program for me. What immediately stood out to me was how well-designed his program was. Ryan is hungry for knowledge – always reading and doing his research for how he can best serve his clients. I think that this is reflected in his program design and how he is able to adapt it to serve individual needs. Not only are his workouts well designed, but they will push you beyond what you thought your limits previously were. But most importantly; they’re fun! I have enjoyed working with Ryan these past few months and have made more gains than I have during any point in my life. I’ve known Coach Ryan for many years both in and out of the gym. I have personally seen the time and effort he puts into both learning and teaching weightlifting. Making him my coach as I got back into Olympic and Power style lifts after many years off was a great choice. His programs are well thought out to help you succeed in whatever your goals are based on his own knowledge and research. I’ve never been more engaged and obsessed with my training than I have under Ryan’s strength program. As a former D1 athlete who has had multiple back, hip, and other soft tissue surgeries, I didn’t think I would ever be as strong as my younger self… man was I wrong! My strength, physique, and confidence are the best they’ve ever been. The challenging, yet fun, workout programs that Ryan has implemented has given me a new found love and appreciation for weight lifting. The training always keeps me on my toes, and there is always something new to learn so I never get bored with the lifts. I have struggled with maintaining a healthy body weight my whole life. Working out has never been fun for me and it’s always been about getting to the point where I see the magic number on the scale that I am happy with. Of course as most people like me know, once you reach that goal weight there is usually a slow slide back to your original unhealthy weight and the process goes on ad nauseam. Since joining the cohort I have been exposed to a variety of new lifts that have challenged me and required much more thought and practice than simply trying to burn as many calories as possible to hit a goal body weight. This has created a much more sustainable model of training for me because instead of reaching a singular goal and then slowly backsliding I can stay much more engaged and motivated in my training always trying to get better at the exercises that Ryan programs. Throughout this process Ryan has provided feedback and advice consistently but also a lot of motivation and support of my journey. I can say with the utmost certainty that I am now the strongest and healthiest I have ever been but I don’t intend on stopping where I am at. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the training I have received from Ryan and would recommend him to anyone looking to improve their overall health and mindset on training.

I contacted Ryan with the goal of finding a workout regimen that offered a good balance between difficulty and sustainability. Ryan promptly designed a personalized plan that focused on building consistency each week in the gym. His exercise program has enabled me to enhance my strength while also integrating aerobic exercises that are challenging and enjoyable. I couldn’t be happier with the progress that I have seen in the gym since following his program. Through his app, I have access to straightforward workout routines accompanied by video guidance, boosting my confidence during gym sessions. He checks in weekly to provide accountability and feedback on exercises. I couldn’t recommend Ryan’s programing enough, it has truly made a difference in my confidence and consistency in the gym!

Doing Ryan’s program has completely changed the relationship I have with training and exercising. I’ve trained using premade programs and apps for years and made great progress, but those are only great when everything goes right. What about when you get sick, or travel, or life gets busy and stressed? What happens when you stall? This is where Ryan thrives. He truly understands his lifters and their strengths and weaknesses and works with them to create the right program for their goals.

I have known Ryan for some time, but historically did my own programming since I have a background in strength and conditioning. However, I decided to use his services because I found myself getting off track with my training and I needed a change of pace to get back in the groove of things. Training with Ryan really allowed me to relax and simply enjoy the process of training while building back the consistency that I had lost before training with him.
